Core concepts
The words Flamio uses — organization, project, role, token, recording, friction, issue and report — and how they fit together.
Flamio organizes everything around your organization and its projects. This page explains the terms you meet in the app, so the rest of the docs read naturally.
Organization
Your organization is the shared space for your company. Its members, their roles, the plan and the token balance all belong to the organization, not to a person.
You get one organization when you sign up, and you are its Owner. There is no screen to create a second one. You join another organization only when someone invites you; from then on, the sidebar menu lists your organizations under Organizations.
See Manage your team.
Project
A project is one product. When you create it, you choose what it covers: Website, Mobile app, or both. Its test tasks, recordings, reports, Scout runs and On-Live data all live inside it.
One project is active at a time. You pick it in the menu at the top of the sidebar, and every Vision, On-Live and Scout page shows that project. All projects are listed in that menu under All projects — there is no separate projects page.
Projects cannot be deleted or archived. You can rename a project and change its site in Settings > Project settings. See Project settings.
Roles
Every member has one of four roles in the organization: Owner, Admin, Editor or Viewer. Every role can see every project, recording and report. Roles decide what a member can change.
Tokens
Tokens are what Flamio's AI work costs — AI analysis reports, Scout runs, assistant messages and On-Live monitoring. The organization has one balance, filled by a plan's allowance or by one-time token packs. Tokens never expire.
See Tokens.
Recording
A recording (also called a session) is a replay of what one person did in the browser: the pages they saw, where they clicked and scrolled, what changed on the page, and the errors that happened. In Vision, recordings come from your testers. In On-Live, they come from your real visitors and are grouped into visits.
Test task and happy path
A test task is what you ask testers to do in Flamio Vision, for example "Buy any item with guest checkout". The happy path is your own recording of the ideal way through that task. Flamio turns it into steps you approve, and compares every tester's recording against them.
See Create a test task.
Friction
A friction is a moment where someone struggled: a rage click (a burst of repeated clicks on something that did not respond), a dead click (a click that did nothing), hesitation, a wrong choice, or leaving the task. Flamio marks frictions on the recording, so you can jump straight to them.
Issue
An issue is a problem Flamio found, with the evidence behind it — the recordings and moments where it happened. Repeated problems with the same cause are grouped into one issue. In a report you confirm or reject each one, and you can send confirmed issues to your task tracker.
Report
A report is Flamio's written analysis:
- A Vision AI analysis report reads the recordings of one test task and explains what stopped people. See AI reports.
- A Scout report describes what Scout found on one run. See Flamio Scout.
- An On-Live digest summarizes what happened on your live site.
Flami
Flami is Flamio's assistant. It answers questions about your data on the Assistant page, from the button in the corner of every screen, and in Slack. It also walks new workspaces through setup. See Flami.
