Get started

Quickstart

Create your Flamio account, set up your first project and choose the fastest way to your first UX insight.

This guide takes you from a new account to your first result in Flamio. It takes a few minutes, and all you need to start is the address of a website.

Before you begin

  • An email address, or a Google account.
  • The full address of the site you want to analyze, for example https://example.com.
  • Nothing to install yet. Each product has its own requirement, listed in the last step.

Create your account

Open admin.flamio.org/register, or click Sign up under Don't have an account? on the Welcome back sign-in page.

Enter Email address and Password (at least 6 characters), then click Create Account. You can also sign up with the Google button below it.

If the address already has an account, the form shows This email is already registered. — click Sign in instead.

You are signed in right away. Flamio creates an organization for you, and you are its Owner.

Fill in the setup wizard

The wizard opens on its first step, and the app stays closed until you finish it.

  • About you: enter First name and Last name. Job role is optional. Click Next.
  • Your company: enter Company name. Field / industry, Company size and Location are optional. Click Next.
  • Review: check the summary. Click Edit next to a section to change it, then click Continue to plan.

Everything you enter here can be changed later in Settings > Profile.

Pick a plan

The Plan step reads You're all set — pick how you want to start. Choose one:

  • Click Start free on the Free card. No card is needed.
  • Click the Subscribe to button on a paid plan's card to pay now.
  • If the Flamio team gave you a promo code, enter it under Have a promo code from our team? and click Apply.

This is the last step of the wizard. Flamio opens the Assistant page, home of Flami, your AI assistant. To compare plans first, see Plans.

Create your first project

A project is one product — a website, a mobile app or both. Everything Flamio records and reports lives inside a project.

On a new workspace, Flami greets you in the middle of the screen. Click Start setup to have Flami point you through the next steps, or I'll look around to do it yourself.

To create the project yourself:

  1. Click the button at the top of the left sidebar. Its small line shows your organization, the bold line the active project.
  2. Click Create project at the bottom of the menu.
  3. Under What does this project cover?, select Website, Mobile app, or both.
  4. Enter Project name. With Website selected, also enter Site URL — a full address such as https://example.com.
  5. Optional: paste Product documentation — what the product is, who uses it and what a visitor should accomplish.
  6. Click Create project.

The new project becomes the active one and you land on the Dashboard.

Choose where to start

Click Assistant at the top of the sidebar. Until your organization has its first chat, it shows Three ways to get your first insight:

Result

You have an account, an organization you own, and an active project. The sections below give the short path to a first result in each product.

A new organization starts empty — there is no sample project or demo data. If you want something to look at today, start with Scout: it needs only your site's address.

Get a first report with Scout

You need the Editor, Admin or Owner role, and a project selected in the sidebar.

  1. In the sidebar, click Flamio Scout (marked Beta).
  2. Enter your address in Site URL and select Desktop, Phone or Both under Screen.
  3. Check Research budget — the most this run may spend. If your balance does not cover it, the form shows a Top up tokens link.
  4. Leave Additional settings as they are for a first run, and click Launch Scout.

The run page opens and updates while Scout works. When it finishes, click View report, or Watch recording to replay what Scout did. See Flamio Scout.

Record your real visitors with On-Live

You need the Editor, Admin or Owner role, and a project that covers a website.

  1. In the sidebar, click Flamio On-Live > Setup, and click Enable Flamio On-Live.
  2. Click Generate API key and copy it. The key is shown once: Save this key now. It will not be shown again.
  3. Under Install the SDK, copy the install command and the code snippet — your project key is already in it — into your site's code. Do it now: later visits to Setup do not show the key again.
  4. Deploy your site.

When the first visit arrives, the last step changes from Waiting for first data… to Data is flowing. Click Go to Overview. See Install the web SDK.

Test a task with people in Vision

Write a task, record the ideal way through it once, and send a link to your testers. Each tester installs the Flamio extension in Chrome, Edge or Opera and records their attempt. See Flamio Vision.
