Flamio Vision

Create a test task

Write a Vision test task, record the ideal way through it, approve the steps and launch the test to your testers.

A test task tells your testers what to try on your website. You create it in four steps: describe the task, record the happy path — the ideal way through it — approve the steps Flamio draws from that recording, and launch.

Before you begin

  • You need the Editor, Admin or Owner role.
  • You need a project that covers a website. A test task always tests a website, so Project lists only those projects. If none has one, the form shows "Test tasks test a website, and none of your projects have a website surface yet." with an Open project settings link. To create a project, see Quickstart.
  • Your organization needs tokens. Flamio uses AI to turn your happy path into steps, and that step is blocked at a zero balance. See Tokens.
  • To record the happy path, install the Flamio extension in a Chromium browser — Chrome, Edge or Opera. The recording page links to it if it is missing.

Open the form

In the sidebar, click Flamio Vision > Test Tasks, then click Create task. On an empty list the button reads Create your first task.

The New test task page opens with four steps: Test details, Record Happy Path, Approve Happy Path and Launch.

Describe the task

On Test details, fill in:

  • Test name — how the task appears in your list.
  • Target URL — the full address testers start on. It is filled in with the project's site, and you can change it.
  • Task statement — what the tester should do, for example "Complete a purchase of any item using the guest checkout." It is the only text testers see, so add any sign-in details here too.
  • Project — the project the task belongs to. It starts on the active project.

The Login steps box is not saved with the task. Put sign-in instructions in Task statement instead.

Click Next. Flamio creates the task at this point.

Record the happy path

On Record Happy Path, click Start recording. A new tab opens the task link in Happy Path recording mode.

In that tab, go through the same screens your testers will: confirm the extension is detected, accept the consent, and click Let's go. Run the ideal flow once on your site, then click Finish in the Flamio panel.

Back in Flamio, the page checks for your recording by itself. When it shows Happy path recorded! and a player with your recording, click Next. To record again, click Re-record — only one happy path is kept.

Approve the steps

On Approve Happy Path, Flamio has mapped your recording into stages and steps. For each step:

  • Edit its text if it is wrong.
  • Click Required or Optional to switch whether testers must do it.
  • Click Approve.

To have Flamio rewrite a step and the ones after it, click Comment, describe the change, and click Revise from here. To rewrite the whole description, enter your feedback under Tell AI what to change and click Rewrite with this feedback. Approved steps stay locked.

When every step is approved, click Approve & continue.

Launch the test

On Launch your test, click Copy next to Share link to copy the link for your testers.

Optional: under Invite testers by email, enter addresses separated by commas, and Flamio emails them the link.

Click Launch test.

Result

The task page opens with an Active pill. Its Share with testers card holds the link, and the Recordings table reads No recordings yet until the first tester finishes. Next, share the task with testers.

If you click Back on Record Happy Path, Flamio asks Discard this task? — going back deletes the task you just created, together with any happy-path recording.

Edit a test task

You need the Editor, Admin or Owner role.

Open the edit page

In Test Tasks, open the row's Row actions menu (⋯) and click Edit. Or, on the task page, click the pencil icon.

Change the details

On Edit Test Task, under Task Details, change Name, Description (the task statement testers read), Website URL, Project or the Active toggle.

Under Happy Path Description, you can edit and re-approve the steps, then click Mark as Approved. Under Recordings, you can rename recordings.

Save

Click Save at the top right.

Delete a test task

In Test Tasks, open Row actions (⋯) and click Delete, or click the trash icon on the task page. In Delete test task?, click Delete.

This cannot be undone

Deleting a test task permanently deletes all its recordings, analytics and AI reports.

To stop a task from collecting recordings without deleting anything, turn it off instead. See Stop collecting recordings.
