Control what a Scout run costs
BetaSet the research budget before you launch, watch the spend live, and find the charge in your usage history.
You decide the most a Scout run can spend before it starts. The Research budget is all a run can cost — its report is free.
Before you begin
- You need the Editor, Admin or Owner role.
- Your organization's token balance must cover this run plus every run already in progress, or the launch is refused. See Tokens.
Set the budget and follow the spend
Find the budget field
Open Flamio Scout. Research budget (Flamio tokens) sits under Screen. It opens on a default figure.
Read the line under it
The line reads "Higher budget = deeper analysis. The run stops at this spend." and shows your current balance.
Raise or lower the budget
Enter more for a deeper audit, or less to spend less. The line turns red and Launch Scout stays disabled when the budget cannot start a run:

Launch and watch the spend
Click Launch Scout. On the run page, the Tokens spent tile shows the spend so far with a ~ and updates while Scout works. When the run completes, the final charge replaces it.
Check the charge afterwards
Click Settings > Usage. Scout runs appear in Usage history with Flamio Scout in the Activity column.
Result
The run stops at the budget you set. If Scout spends the budget before it reaches every page, the run page says "Coverage stopped at the research budget". To cover the rest, click Continue on the run — see Stop, continue or re-scan a run.
What each kind of run costs
- A stopped run is charged only for what Scout spent up to the stop.
- A queued run you cancel costs nothing.
- A run blocked by the site or a site that could not be opened costs nothing — nothing was tested.
- A run that ended without completing shows Not charged in Tokens spent.
- A continued run does not charge again for pages the earlier run already reviewed.
- A board-tasks run adds a rough per-task estimate on top of the walk, shown before you launch.
