Check tasks from your Jira, GitHub or Trello board
BetaHave Scout do each task from your board like a visitor would and post the verdict on the task.
Point Scout at tasks on your board — a release, a column or a list of links. Scout does each task like a visitor would, checks the pages the tasks went through, and posts its verdict on each task.
Before you begin
- You need the Editor, Admin or Owner role.
- Connect Jira, GitHub Issues or Trello to the project in Settings > Integrations. See Connect an issue tracker.
- Select the project in the sidebar project switcher.
Check board tasks
Fill the basics
Open Flamio Scout, enter the Site URL, pick the Screen and set the Research budget.
Choose Board tasks
Open Additional settings and select Board tasks under Mode.
Checking a task means doing it, filling its forms included, so the form switches to Interactive and ticks I own or am authorised to test this site — allow destructive actions. Untick it, or select Read-only, if Scout must not change data.
Pick the board
If more than one board is connected, select it in Board.
Pick the tasks
Under Pick tasks by, select one:
- Links — paste task links, one per line.
- Version — select a version from the board.
- Status — select a status or column from the board.
Find the tasks
Click Find tasks. Flamio reads the board and lists the tasks it will check, with a rough token estimate on top of the walk. "No tasks match — nothing to check." means the query found nothing.
Launch the run
Click Launch Scout.
Result
The run page shows a Board tasks card. Each task reads Checking… until the report is ready, then carries a verdict and the reason:
| Verdict | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Works | Scout did the task end to end and the result matched it. |
| Broken | A step did not do what it should, or the end did not match the task. |
| Could not confirm | Scout got through, but could not confirm the last screen against the task. |
| Could not check | Scout was stopped from acting — a blocked action, or nothing to press. |
| No way found | Scout found no way to do the task on the site. |
| Not checked | The run ended before this task — stopped, or out of budget. |
Under each task, "Verdict posted on the task." confirms the comment on your board. If posting failed, the line says why.
Start from Flami
Ask Flami to check the tasks of a release or a column. Its answer carries a card that opens this form with the tasks already picked. See Ask Flami.
