Connect an issue tracker

Connect Jira, GitHub Issues or Trello to a project, export approved issues from reports, and repoint, re-check or remove the connection.

Connect a task tracker to a project, and the issues you approve in its reports become tasks in one click. Each project connects its own trackers: GitHub Issues, Trello and Jira.

Before you begin

  • You need the Editor, Admin or Owner role.
  • Select the project in the sidebar project switcher. In Settings > Integrations, the gray Project banner names the project you are connecting.
  • You create the credential in the tracker itself: a GitHub token, a Trello API key and token, or an Atlassian API token.

Treat tracker tokens like passwords

The token you paste lets Flamio create issues in your tracker. Paste it only into Flamio's connect dialog, never into a chat or a ticket. Flamio stores it encrypted and never shows it again.

Connect GitHub Issues

Flamio connects to GitHub with a fine-grained personal access token. There is no GitHub App.

Open the GitHub tile

Click Settings > Integrations. On the GitHub Issues tile, click Connect. The Connect GitHub Issues dialog lists the Required scopes: Issues: Read and write, and Metadata: Read-only.

Create the token on GitHub

Click Create a fine-grained PAT. On github.com, create a token with those two scopes on the repository you want, and copy it.

Paste the token

Back in Flamio, paste it into Personal access token and click Continue. "GitHub rejected the token. Check scopes and try again." means the scopes or the repository are wrong.

Pick the repository

On Pick a repository, type in Search repositories and click the repository.

Optional: add default labels

Under Default labels (optional), type a label and press Enter or click Add. Every exported issue gets these labels.

Save

Click Save & connect.

The tile reads Connected and shows the target repository.

Connect Trello

Flamio connects to Trello with a Power-Up API key and a token you authorize on Trello.

Open the Trello tile

Click Settings > Integrations. On the Trello tile, click Connect. The Connect Trello dialog opens.

Create a Power-Up

Under Step 1 — Create a Power-Up to get an API key, click Open Power-Up Admin Portal. On Trello's Your Apps page, click New, pick a workspace and give the app any name, for example FlamioAI export.

Generate the API key

In the new app, open the API key tab, click Generate a new API key and copy it. Iframe connector URL can stay blank.

Authorize Flamio

Paste the key into API key in Flamio. Click the Authorize FlamioAI on Trello link that appears, click Allow on Trello's page, and copy the token Trello shows.

Paste the token

Paste it into Token and click Continue. "Trello rejected the credentials. Check key and token." means one of them is wrong.

Pick the board and list

On Pick a board and list, choose a Board, then a List. The list loads after you pick the board.

Save

Click Save & connect.

The toast reads "Trello connected" and the tile reads Connected.

Connect Jira

Flamio connects to Jira Cloud with an Atlassian API token. Jira Server and Data Center are not supported.

Open the Jira tile

Click Settings > Integrations. On the Jira tile, click Connect. The Connect Jira dialog opens.

Create the API token

Under Step 1 — Create an API token, click Open Atlassian API tokens. On Atlassian, click Create API token, give it a label such as FlamioAI export, and copy the value.

Fill in the connection

Fill Site URL with the address you use for Jira in the browser, for example https://acme.atlassian.net, with no trailing slash. Fill Email with the Atlassian account the token belongs to, and paste the token into API token. Each field shows Looks good when it is valid.

Continue

Click Continue. "Jira rejected the credentials. Check site URL, email, and token." means one of them is wrong.

Pick the project and issue type

On Pick a project and issue type, choose the Project, then the Issue type.

Save

Click Save & connect.

The toast reads "Jira connected to" and your Jira project key.

Export approved issues from a report

Flamio creates tasks only from issues you confirmed.

Open the report

For a Vision test, click Test Tasks under Flamio Vision, open the task, click View analysis and click the report. For a Scout audit, click Flamio Scout and open the run — Export approved sits above its report.

Confirm the issues

Click Confirm on each issue you want to export. On a Vision report, click Save Feedback at the bottom. A Scout report saves each choice as you make it.

Pick the destination

Click Export approved and pick the tracker. GitHub shows the repository, Jira the project key and issue type, and Trello the board and list ids.

Read the result

The dialog shows "Exporting to" and the tracker while it works, and ends with Export complete. Click Close.

Issues already sent are marked as already exported instead of being sent twice. If nothing was confirmed, the dialog says "No approved issues to export." Without a connected tracker, Export approved is disabled.

If the export reads that the tracker rejected the credentials, reconnect it in Settings > Integrations and export again.

Repoint, re-check or remove a tracker

Open Settings > Integrations and check that the Project banner names the project you mean. Each connected tile shows its target, the account and when it was last validated.

ToDo this
Send tasks somewhere elseClick Change target, pick in Change repository (GitHub), Change board / list (Trello) or Change project / issue type (Jira), and click Save. Credentials are reused.
Re-check the stored credentialClick Re-validate. The toast says the tracker re-validated, or that its token is invalid.
Fix an Invalid connectionClick Reconnect and enter fresh credentials.
Remove the connectionClick Disconnect and confirm. The credentials and target are removed from this project; tasks already created in the tracker stay untouched.

If the pane reads "Couldn’t load integration status. This is usually temporary.", nothing is disconnected. Click Try again.
